Built by a Rider,
For Riders
The Story
BeaverPaw started with a simple frustration. Rick is a motorcycle enthusiast and electronics maker who spent years dealing with motorcycle alarms that barely work. The cheap ones go off in a light breeze and get ignored by everyone. The expensive ones come with clunky keyfobs, proprietary apps that haven't been updated since 2018, and zero insight into what actually happened when the alarm triggered.
After yet another false alarm at 2 AM and a neighbor who was ready to file a noise complaint, Rick decided to build something better. The idea was straightforward: a modern motorcycle alarm should be smart, phone-controlled, and cloud-connected. It should tell you exactly what is happening with your bike, let you control it from your phone, and be smart enough to tell the difference between a gust of wind and someone actually messing with your motorcycle.
The first prototype was a development board wired to a relay board on a workbench. Within a few months, it had Bluetooth phone pairing, motion detection with adjustable sensitivity, and the beginnings of a proper state machine. Friends who ride started asking for units. That prototype became BeaverPaw.
Today, BeaverPaw is a purpose-built motorcycle alarm system with custom hardware, a dedicated mobile app, cloud connectivity, and firmware that gets better with every update. Rick built it with security as a core principle: encrypted communications, signed firmware updates, and tamper detection at every layer.
Our Mission
Make motorcycle security accessible, reliable, and secure.
Accessible means a price point that does not require a second mortgage, installation guides written for real people, and an app that works the way you expect it to. You should not need an electrical engineering degree to install a motorcycle alarm.
Reliable means an alarm that works every time you walk away from your bike. It means firmware with a proper state machine and safety rules, not a spaghetti code hobby project. It means OTA updates that cannot brick your device and a cloud platform that stays online.
Secure means encrypted BLE communication, cryptographically signed firmware updates, secure boot, and tamper detection built into every device. It means your alarm is engineered to resist real-world attacks, not just check a box. It means the community has a real voice in what gets built next.
Security Commitment
Security is not something we bolt on at the end. It is built into every layer of BeaverPaw, from the hardware up. Our firmware uses encrypted BLE communication to prevent replay attacks and signal interception. Every firmware update is cryptographically signed and verified before installation, ensuring that only authentic software runs on your device.
The device implements secure boot, which prevents unauthorized firmware from executing. Tamper detection monitors the hardware itself and alerts you immediately if someone interferes with the unit. All cloud communication is encrypted with TLS, and your account is protected by industry-standard authentication.
We take a defense-in-depth approach: multiple independent security layers mean that compromising one does not compromise the whole system. This is how professional security systems are built, and it is the standard your motorcycle deserves.
Our Values
Safety First
Every design decision starts with rider safety. From hardcoded state machine rules that prevent dangerous transitions to dual-partition OTA updates that never brick your device, reliability is non-negotiable. Your alarm should work every single time, without exception.
Security
Real security comes from rigorous engineering, not shortcuts. BeaverPaw uses encrypted communications, cryptographically signed firmware updates, secure boot, and tamper detection. Every layer of the system is designed to withstand attack and protect your motorcycle.
Community
BeaverPaw is better because riders shape it. Bug reports from real-world use, feature requests from daily riders, and feedback from the riding community all make the product stronger. We build with our customers, not just for them.
Simplicity
Powerful does not have to mean complicated. BeaverPaw installs in a few hours with common tools, pairs with your phone in seconds, and then stays out of your way. The best security system is one you actually use because it does not add friction to your ride.
