Kawasaki
Common wire colors, fuse box locations, and relay tap points for Kawasaki motorcycles. Always verify with a multimeter before making connections.
Common Wire Colors
These are typical colors across recent Kawasaki models. Colors can vary between model years — always verify with a multimeter.
| Color | Function |
|---|---|
| BK | Ground (chassis) |
| R | Battery positive (always hot) |
| BR | Ignition accessory (switched) |
| Y | Headlight / lighting circuit |
| G | Turn signal left |
| GR | Turn signal right |
| BL | Horn circuit |
Fuse Box
Typically under the seat or behind a side panel. Fuse box uses blade-type fuses (10A-30A). Look for the SPARE fuse slot for clean fuse-tap installation. On sport bikes (Ninja, ZX series), the fuse box is usually under the seat cowl.
Relay Tap Points
- ✓Turn signals: tap the GR (right) and/or G (left) wire at the rear harness connector near the tail
- ✓Horn: tap the BL wire at the horn relay near the headstock — relay trigger is low-current
- ✓Ignition accessory: BR wire at the fuse box provides switched 12V for key switch input
- ✓Always-hot 12V: R wire at the battery or main fuse — use an inline fuse (5A)
Notes
- •Kawasaki uses consistent wire colors across most models from 2018+
- •Sport bikes (Ninja/ZX) have tighter clearances — route wires carefully around the airbox
- •Most Kawasaki fuse boxes have 1-2 spare slots for fuse taps
